Digital Marketing for Industrial Products Lecture Series Lesson 18:
In our last lecture, we have talked about integrated Internet Marketing, and there is a closed loop of Internet Marketing. In the whole closed-loop digital marketing process, keywords for digital marketing run through every link.

What do keywords mean?
To generalize, keywords for digital marketing is the right keywords or phrases chosen which describe a company’s products or services in order to start the online campaigns on the Internet, and they can trigger your ads to appear whenever a relevant search keywords are typed in a search engine. They can be, firstly, products names of industrial products enterprise, like bearing; Secondly, Technical term, like a plastic processing technology called blister; Thirdly, Industry categories, like plastics industry; What’s more, they can also be dialects, like so-called “automatic wave” in Guangdong referring to automatic transmission in the transmission maintenance enterprises; And last, Brand words, like SAP, one of the world’s top 500 enterprises. The truth is that the categories of keywords for digital marketing can be diverse. However, they all serve the same and ultimate purpose to show up at the right time and for the right search keywords, which makes the choosing of the keywords for digital marketing hard for some network marketers.
Keywords are also known as search terms that customers input in the search engine. But it is worth mentioning that the keywords for digital marketing is not necessarily the same as the search terms unless the keywords for digital marketing in your campaigns happen to be exactly the same with search terms. According to the frequency of use, keywords for digital marketing can be divided into core words and long tail words.
Let me tell you a story about keywords for digital marketing from my experience.
As mentioned above, I began to do digital marketing in May 2005, and it only took half a month for me to complete the first deal after writing the website. I learned that the client found our website by Googling the word “bubble cover”. At that time, transparent blister packaging products were called “bubble shell” in most of the domestic areas. “Bubble cover” was only used in Taiwan, and then many companies doing trade with Taiwan got used to using this name. I knew about these two names when I managed the packaging factory under the foreign trade company, so I optimized and promoted the two words. I had the opportunity to make an instant success out of the word “bubble cover” and started my digital marketing career.
How do we obtain keywords for digital marketing? Which channel keywords are more valuable? I have made a ladder diagram, as shown below:

At the top of the list are keywords provided by customers. For example, when you communicate with a customer or a customer calls for consultation, every detail, term, product word and industry name are likely to become the keywords for digital marketing in the future, so as a attentive network marketer, you should seriously record every detail.
At the second layer of the list are keywords provided by salesman. Salesmen are accustomed to the jargons, slangs and technical terms used by customers since they are dealing with a variety of customers all over the country. They are often a good source of the right keywords for digital marketing.
At the third layer is the search terms we often use in digital marketing, which can be retrieved from website background data. As we have discussed in the first few classes, we need to check enterprise website Baidu statistics background data to identify the search terms customers use. These search terms are also an important channel for us to obtain keywords for digital marketing.
The fourth is recommended search terms by Baidu bidding background: they can be obtained from Baidu background tools [keyword planner]. For example, if you search the word “blister shell” in the extension column, you will see a lot of relevant keywords, like “blister shell manufacturers”, which can also be used as keywords for digital marketing, as shown below:

The fifth is associational words in Baidu search engine. When you put a core word in the Baidu search bar, it will automatically associate a long list of words, based on Baidu big data analysis. These words must have been searched frequently on the Internet. If we input the word “bubble shell” in the Baidu search bar, there is a long list of words, such as “bubble shell packaging” and “blister bubble shell”. They can be used as keywords for digital marketing, as shown below:

The sixth is related searches at the bottom of Baidu’s search page. They are also keywords related to a core word or a related word, which is also a source of keywords for digital marketing. If we use the word “bubble shell” to search in Baidu, relevant searches will also be displayed at the bottom of the page, like the word “bubble shell manufacturer”.

The seventh is the keywords used by peers, which can be obtained from our rivals’ websites. If an enterprise begins to do digital marketing, it should learn more from their peers, like what keywords for digital marketing are used on their website. This will make you more productive.
The last one is the keywords used by industry platforms and news reports, which can be obtained from industry platforms. We often see a lot of relevant free information or paid information published on many platforms, and the keywords they use are also an important source of keywords for digital marketing.
